Project description
The project “Pour Moi, Pour Les Autres” (“For Me, For Others”) aims to improve the mental health and well-being of French-speaking LGBTQI activists in Haiti and Cameroon, and more generally in the Caribbean and Central and East Africa.
The project’s specific objectives are to:
- Document and increase visibility of the needs of French-speaking LGBTQI activists in terms of mental health and well-being;
- Reinforce skills and improve practices and services for front-line activists’ mental health and well-being;
- Create a practice of mutual aid and care between LGBTQI activists and the regional and international level, as well as advocating for the integration of mental health as a cross-cutting axis for development programs among international lenders and organizations.
This innovative project draws from discussions and findings within communities and highlights the importance of both individual and collective well-being in activist spaces by placing activists’ well-being at the heart of the initiative, to foster strong and resilient LGBTQI movements.
