The 54th Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO (CCUNESCO) is being held in Victoria, British Columbia from June 5 to 7, 2014. Equitas is a member of the Sectoral Commission on Education of CCUNESCO.
Jean-Sébastien Vallée, Education Specialist at Equitas and Angie Mapara Osachoff, regional coordinator of Equitas in British Columbia and volunteer member of the Executive Committee of the CCUNESCO are attending the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The AGM is an opportunity for Equitas to meet organizations from across Canada, to discuss human rights issues and participate in conferences on indigenous languages and cultures in Canada and the relationships between the Aboriginal communities, UNESCO and Canada.
“The participation in the Canadian Commission for UNESCO is important because it allows Equitas to network with organizations working in the field of human rights”, says Nazzari Vincenza, Director of Education at Equitas. “The CCUNESO is a platform for knowledge sharing where members can talk about important issues and learn from each other and sharing educational tools.”
