Darryl Yates (he/him), is Executive Director, Brain & Mental Health Services at SickKids Hospital in Toronto. He has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Toronto Metropolitan University and Master of Health Science in Health Administration with the Institute of Health Policy Management & Evaluation from the University of Toronto.
What I enjoy about being on Equitas’ board? The people! My fellow board members and the Equitas leadership team are an incredible group of talented and committed professionals that I am proud to be part of. I bring previous governance experience having served on a board for many years, including on the executive serving as Chair. In my 30+ year career in healthcare I have often served underrepresented and marginalized populations. As a Health Care Leader over the past 20+ years I have been focused on population health equity in how services are designed and resourced in local communities and in some cases provincially. My overarching goal as a Director with the Equitas Board is to provide support and guidance for the ongoing work and successes in advancing equality, social justice and respect for human dignity nationally as well as abroad.
