Darryl Yates (he/him) is the Executive Director of Clinical Programs at SickKids Hospital in Toronto.
Darryl is a passionate and respected Executive Health Care Leader with a track record of leading and inspiring interprofessional teams to design and improve systems that deliver exceptional patient care and achieve strategic imperatives. Darryl has successfully led teams in both the public and private sectors for more than 20 years. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of Toronto. He is a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Leaders. Darryl is a proud Citizen of the Métis Nation of Ontario.
Darryl is humbled by the commitment and energy the Equitas team demonstrates in how they engage communities domestically and internationally, to advance equality and social justice through human rights education programs. In Darryl’s leadership career in healthcare and volunteer board experiences he has always focused on helping marginalized populations. Darryl says it is a privilege to serve Equitas in a governance capacity to help guide the organization strategically.
What Darryl offers to the board of Equitas is more than twelve years of governance experience in the not-for-profit sector, a track record of establishing effective professional connections, an ability to listen actively to analyze complex issues and provide guidance to focus clearly on execution of plans to achieve strategic objectives.
As we find ourselves in an era of increasing political nationalism and polarization across the globe, this makes the work of Equitas more important than ever, to protect human rights for all.
