Equitas welcomes the Caisse de dépôt et de placement du Québec announcement for the establishment of the Inclusion fund, a philanthropic fund of more that $3.5 million supported by Quebec’s financial community. This new fund will in part support Equitas’ education and awareness programs for Quebec youth to build an environment free of discrimination and harassment.
The tragic events that took place in Quebec City last January 29th remind us that no country is immune from the effects of discrimination, harassment and violence. The creation of this new fund is an important step by the financial community in recognizing that investing in human rights education is investing in building more inclusive, more equitable and more peaceful communities.
Building on the success of our award-winning youth programs Play it Fair!, Speaking Rights and Young Women, Young Leaders, Equitas looks forward to working with the CDPQ, its 21 partners in the financial community and our partners across Quebec to engage children and youth in becoming human rights changemakers for the promotion of openness and inclusion in their families, in their schools and in their communities.
