World social forum: Equitas promotes youth participation in Tunisia

26 mars 2015

The World Social Forum came after a protest following the March 18 terrorist attack at the Bardo museum. This photo shows signs that were put together by the young participants of Equitas’ Mosharka project in Tunisia.

About 20 young members of Equitas’ EU funded Mosharka project in Tunisia, participated at the World Social Forum this week in Tunis. In cooperation with the Association des Femmes tunisiennes pour la Recherche sur le Développement, the young members hosted a workshop titled Socioeconomic rights of youth for a better social integration. They presented a video completely crafted by them which illustrates why it is important to integrate youth with drugs addictions. Before the forum, they also took to the streets of Tunis to take part in a protest against terrorism. The protest was in response to the March 18 attack at the Bardo museum which left 21 people dead.

The Mosharka Project is being implemented with the financial support of the European Union, the Ford Foundation and the Canada Fund for local initiatives – Jordan.
