Equality in decision-making is essential to the empowerment of women. Our work in Kenya focuses on increasing women’s participation in local decision-making structures.
Violence against women is a major barrier to their participation in decision-making. Our work in Tanzania focuses on promoting inclusion and equipping communities to address gender-based violence in all spheres of life.
In Burkina Faso, Equitas works in partnership with local organizations to contribute to the empowerment of women and girls by providing them with the tools and knowledge to promote gender equality in their communities and around the world.
In Senegal, the Advancing Equality through Human Rights Education (AEHRE) project aims to build safer and more equitable communities where key actors, including children and youth, exercise their leadership to promote gender equality and greater respect for human rights.
In Guinea, Equitas collaborates on the Pro Forest Women project, empowering women to safeguard their forests, their livelihoods, and their human rights.
