Even today, injustices persist and human rights are declining around the world. Last year alone, 60 countries saw a deterioration in their political rights and civil liberties, according to Freedom House. For December 10, International Human Rights Day, it is essential to remember that these rights belong to all of us… and they influence our daily lives much more than we think.
That is why Equitas is proud to launch its new global video, available in four languages:
Think Human Rights Don’t Affect you?
As we celebrate the 77th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it is more important than ever to remember that human rights are not abstract: we use them every day.
Watch the video, share it, talk about it:
A video to understand, feel… and take action.
Created for Equitas by Chocolate Moose Media, directed by Firdaus Kharas, and funded by the Government of Canada, this video shows how human rights are experienced in the simplest acts of everyday life.
The video is published under a Creative Commons BY-ND-NC license: you can download and share it freely.
You can make a difference today.
For Human Rights Day and every day, we invite you to take a simple but powerful step:
Share the video with those around you.
With your family, friends, social networks, workplace…
The more people understand that human rights concern us all, the more we will be able to protect them.
Thank you for joining us in this mission. Today and every day, we have the power to advance human rights.
