Equitas is seeking the services of a licensed psychologist or registered professional counselor (member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec, Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d’orientation du Québec, or an equivalent Canadian professional regulatory body) to provide mental health support during the 42nd International Human Rights Training Program (IHRTP), taking place October 26 – November 7, 2025 at the Centre de Villégiature Jouvence, Orford, Quebec.
The selected professional will be required to reside on-site throughout the program and be available for individual consultations, ad hoc support, and crisis interventions, using a trauma-informed approach suited to a multicultural environment.
The IHRTP brings together around 65participants from across the globe and offers a unique professional experience in an inclusive and stimulating environment.
Requirements
- Licensed member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ), Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d’orientation du Québec (OCCOQ), or an equivalent Canadian professional regulatory body
- Bilingual in English and French
- Trauma-informed approach (demonstrated training and/or experience)
- Experience working with adults in multicultural or community settings (an asset)
Expected services on site from October 26 to November 8 2025
- Prepare consultation protocols covering access, confidentiality, referrals and documentation
- Prepare protocols for seeing patients or referrals if needed
- Provide individual psychological or psychosocial support to participants upon request
- Assess mental health needs and refer to external services if needed
- Intervene in crisis situations, applying professional ethics and a trauma-informed approach
- Advise the team on practices promoting participant mental well-being
