Equitas is seeking a registered nurse to provide health services and manage the infirmary during the 42nd International Human Rights Training Program (IHRTP), taking place October 26– November 7, 2025 at the Centre de Villégiature Jouvence, Orford, Quebec.
The position requires the nurse to reside on-site for the entire program and be available for emergencies as needed.
In addition to being present during the event, the nurse will be responsible for preparing the infirmary and referral protocols two months prior to the program.
The IHRTP brings together around 65 participants from across the globe and offers a unique opportunity to work in a diverse and stimulating environment!
Requirements
- OIIQ certification with current license in good standing
- Bilingual in English and French
- Experience in community and multicultural context, event, or camp nursing (an asset)
Services
Pre-event (starting August 2025, approx. 5–10 hours over 2 months remote work):
- Evaluate medical supply needs and recommend necessary equipment
- Advise on vendors and sources for procuring medical supplies
- Identify nearby hospitals, clinics, and emergency medical services
- Develop an emergency referral protocol
During the event (October 26 – November 8, 2025):
- Manage the on-site infirmary and maintain regular presence, including on-call availability 24/7
- Assess participants presenting health concerns and provide appropriate care or treatment
- Administer first aid and prescribed medications (as needed)
- Offer health and hygiene advice to participants
- Coordinate transfers to external medical services as required
Compensation and conditions
- Accommodation and meals provided throughout the program at the Centre de Villégiature Jouvence, Orford, Québec, from October 25th to November 8th 2025
- Compensation:
- $30/hour for pre-event preparation work (approx. 5–10 hours between August and October 2025)
- $300/day during the program (includes presence and 24/7 on-call availability)
