Support Equitas at the Montreal Charity Challenge!

Here we go for a fifth consecutive year! Equitas will be on hand again this year at Parc Jean Drapeau for the  21K de Montreal Charity Challenge on April 20, 2024!

Every year, the Charity Challenge brings together various charitable organizations to raise funds for the different essential causes they support. These organizations create teams of runners who will also have the opportunity to walk or roll on April 20 at Parc Jean-Drapeau, or participate virtually from anywhere in the world. Participants can choose to run distances of 5 km, 10 km or 21 km to show their support for a cause close to their hearts. The younger ones, from 2 to 12 years old, are also welcome to take part in a 1 km children’s race. Equitas is taking part in this initiative for the 5th time, and is more motivated than ever to raise funds for human rights education.  This is an excellent opportunity to join the team and demonstrate or reinforce your commitment to Equitas!

What is Equitas’ commitment?

Sharing human rights knowledge, tools and resources is a priority at Equitas. We work with communities in Canada and around the world to address important human rights issues such as gender inequality and discrimination, and together we empower marginalized groups such as women, children and youth, Aboriginal, Black and racialized communities, and the 2SLGBTQI+ community to protect and claim their rights. In a world where these rights are constantly being called into question, we firmly believe in the importance of promoting human rights education to bring about real change.

What does the Charity Challenge represent for Equitas?

This annual event is an important moment for Equitas. Thanks to the support of our supporters and allies, we are able to pursue our mission of advancing equality and social justice and give greater visibility to the work of Equitas and its vital partners. Each year, this event allows new people to join the global human rights movement and strengthens the ties between Equitas and its supporters.  We also use this open-air morning to reinforce the team spirit we have at Equitas by bringing together staff, board members, family and friends, and any other people or organizations who share our values of equality and non-discrimination.

How can you support us?

Consider making a donation to support the Equitas team! By contributing to our fundraising efforts, you are helping us to continue our work in human rights education.

Last year was a success, raising over $12,000 with the help of over 30 participants who joined our team and the many supporters who donated! This year, we want to surpass ourselves and reach a goal of $15,000.

If you’d like to join our team of runners this year, or if you have any questions about the Charity Challenge, please contact Tarina Jean at tjean@equitas.org

See you at the starting line!
