Your Aeroplan points for human rights!

From August 12th to 18th, you can donate your points to Equitas and Aeroplan will DOUBLE your impact by matching the points! These points enable us to expand our human rights education work beyond borders. This is another simple way to contribute to human rights defenders’ work in building a respectful and tolerant world.  Because human rights are universal.

What is Aeroplan?

Aeroplan is the loyalty rewards and recognition program operated by Air Canada that lets us accumulate Aeroplan points and then redeem these points for travel, merchandise and other rewards. 

By donating your points to Equitas, you’re contributing a different way to human rights education and to the advancement of equality. Because when people know their rights and the tools to claim them, they can take meaningful action and make their communities safer and better places to be. 

From August 12th to 18th, all points donated to Equitas will be matched by Aeroplan!

How do Aeroplan points help Equitas? 

Points are welcome all-year round, however, from August 12th to 18th, Aeroplan will double your impact by matching each donation. Each point donated to Equitas will allow us to connect with our international partners and the marginalized communities we stand up for. 

The IHRTP is Equitas’ most recognized human rights education program with up to 100 attendees every year.

We create transformative human rights education programs and activities that equip people from all backgrounds and identities with the tools and the skills to claim their rights. To do so, we work thoroughly alongside international partners, based in Haiti, East Africa, West Africa and the Middle East and North Africa region, to design and co-create programs that are tailored to communities’ needs and cultures.  

With Aeroplan points, our possibilities are tenfold. Equitas staff and partners can connect to deliver in-person trainings and educational activities such as the International Human Rights Training Program (IHRTP) held in June 2023, where more than 90 participants from all over the world came to Montreal, Canada for an intensive three-week training program specifically dedicated to building the capacity and skills of human rights educators. 

Your donated Aeroplan points will contribute greatly to the pursuit of equality and human rights protection by allowing Equitas to bring its human rights education work beyond borders. In these times of polarization and increased violence in all shapes and forms, the universality of human rights is crucial more than ever – and learning about our rights, and the rights of others, is the quintessential step.
