We can’t think of a better moment, International Human Rights Day, to announce that the TD Bank Group is renewing and increasing its support for our Play It Fair! program for children aged 6-12 years old. The announcement was made by Alan Convery, TD Bank Group Director of Community Relations, at the annual Equitas Toronto Cocktail held at the TD Centre on December 9th, in the presence of members of Toronto’s human rights and corporate communities. The new funding over the period of the next three years will support ongoing program activities and expansion of our work in schools and increase our outreach to Aboriginal communities across Canada. A stellar partner for the past 9 years, TD Bank Group’s support has allowed Equitas to equip summer day camps, after school programs and classrooms in over 30 communities across Canada with tools to integrate human rights education in their programs to promote values such as equality, inclusion and respect for diversity while addressing challenges related to bullying, discrimination and exclusion.
