Program at a Glance
- Location : Abidjan, Côte-d’Ivoire
- Online preparatory phase: November 2026 to January 10 2027 (self-paced, approximately 12–15 hours over 5 weeks)
- In-person training: January 17 – 29, 2027 (11-day intensive training)
- Language : french
- Participants : 45 human rights educators and defenders from around the world
- Participation fee: $4,000 $ CAD (Includes: training fees, accommodation and meals, educational materials, and medical insurance covering emergencies)
- International travel and visa costs are not included.
- Bursaries: Limited full and partial bursaries may be available

A program with lasting impact
The Regional Human Rights Training Session in Francophone Africa (SRFDH) is a regional training program that offers a unique opportunity for human rights defenders, activists, and educators from civil society, institutions, and government agencies to deepen their understanding of human rights and the essential role of human rights education in bringing about sustainable social change.
Conducted in partnership with former participants in Equitas training programs in several French-speaking African countries, the SRFDH aims to strengthen the capacity of a regional group of human rights organizations and institutions to use a human rights-based approach to advance gender equality and human rights through human rights education, with the goal of building a global culture of human rights.
