February 5, 2013: Robert Fowler on human rights in West Africa at Equitas fundraiser

Did you attend the cocktail? We would benefit tremendously from your feedback on the event. Please take a few minutes to answer our short e-survey on the cocktail to help us make our next event even more spectacular! Click here for the survey More than 200 people gathered at Cirque du Soleil’s 7e Ciel for Equitas’ annual Gala Cocktail. The event featured a talk by Robert Fowler.  A former Canadian diplomat and UN special envoy, Mr. Fowler was a hostage of insurgents in Mali for 130 days. He explained to the gathered guests the very real threat that rebels linked to Al-Qaeda pose to human rights and stability in the region. The event offered a one-of-a-kind opportunity for guests to expand their knowledge of human rights, enjoy fun entertainment and network while supporting a global cause. The event will benefit Equitas’ international human rights programming for women, children and youth. Special thanks go out to Robert Fowler for having agreed to be our speaker and to Aimia, lead sponsor of the cocktail. Other key sponsors for this event included Bell, Copley, Osler Hoskin Harcourt, Power Corporation, Royal Bank of Canada, Borden Ladner Gervais, Edelman, Ernst & Young, and Muse Entertainment. Thank you as well to all the members of the Equitas family who attended or contributed to the fundraising cocktail and made it the most successful one yet. More pictures from the cocktail
