Daniel has been a Senior Education Specialist with Equitas since November 2003, now called Human Rights Education Advisor. He has been working on Equitas’ Advancing Equality through Human Rights Education in West Africa for the past 5 years. Since he joined Equitas, Daniel has been responsible for the design, development, delivery and evaluation of human rights education activities in Canada, West and East Africa, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, Haiti, the Middle-East and North Africa, and Latin America. He has also been involved in the development of the IHRTP (2006-2009) and was one of its facilitators (2013). He was the main education specialist responsible for the original development of Equitas’ Play it Fair! Toolkit, a human rights education toolkit for children and for the creation of the JE m’engage, ensemble NOUS bâtissons toolkit for citizenship engagement in Haiti.
Before joining Equitas, he worked in Latin America for over ten years in international cooperation and research (Colombia, Costa Rica and Ecuador). He holds a Master’s degree in anthropology from Laval University and pursued doctoral studies in anthropology at the University of British Columbia.
