Congolese lawyer, Ngungua Gisèle Sangua recognized for her work with women and girls, victims of war crimes

Ngungua Gisele Sangua is this year’s winner of the Ruth Selwyn Bursary for Achievement in Empowering Women and Girls. She is the coordinator of Coordinator of Action Large des Femmes Avocates in Lubumbashi  in the Democratic Republic of Congo where she works with women and girls, victims of sexual violence. There, she provides legal assistance primarily to female victims of violence. ALFA also works to educate the community and community leaders about the issue of sexual violence.
