Welcome human rights educators into your home! Are you interested in the different cultures around the world? Are you interested in intercultural exchanges? You are invited to spend an evening with the most inspiring people you’ll ever meet! Every year, approximately 90 human rights educators from about 50 countries participate in the International Human Rights Training Program (IHRTP) held every year at John Abbott College in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. Now in its 37th year, the IHRTP provides the participants with a unique opportunity to enhance their ability to defend and promote human rights and democratic values in their home countries.
The Host Family Dinner has been an important part of the IHRTP’s social activities since 1994. Through this event, participants enjoy an evening of Canadian hospitality, nurturing a rich intercultural exchange. Families volunteer to prepare a dinner at home to be shared with up to four participants from around the world. Many volunteers have participated in the dinner repeatedly over the years. This year, the Host Family Dinner will take place on Friday, June 10th. Please join us in making this event a continued success!
