The ”Let’s Talk About It!” training will be delivered in Montreal on September 29 as part of the 2026 Peace Days event organized by the Peace Network for Social Harmony.

Through human rights education, Equitas supports educators, youth workers and community leaders in developing the knowledge and skills needed to foster inclusive dialogue and meaningful participation. « Let’s Talk About it! » offers an opportunity to strengthen these skills and explore how difficult conversations can become spaces for learning, connection and understanding.
Why these conversations matter?
Young people across Canada are navigating increasingly complex conversations about identity, discrimination, conflict, social justice and belonging.
Yet creating spaces where young people can openly express their perspectives, ask difficult questions and engage respectfully with different viewpoints can be challenging.
As part of the 2026 Peace Days, Equitas will offer Let’s Talk About It!, a participatory training designed for people who work with young people and want to strengthen their ability to facilitate conversations on complex or sensitive topics.
Through interactive activities, reflection and peer exchange, participants will explore practical approaches to creating spaces where young people feel respected, heard and able to engage with different perspectives.
What will participants gain?
The training will help participants:
- develop strategies for facilitating conversations on complex and sensitive issues;
- strengthen their ability to create inclusive and respectful spaces for dialogue;
- explore how human rights principles can support constructive conversations;
- reflect on their own role as facilitators;
- exchange experiences and practical strategies with others working with young people.
Rather than providing a one-size-fits-all approach, Let’s Talk About it! uses participatory learning to encourage participants to draw on their own experiences, learn from one another and develop approaches they can apply in their own contexts.
