More than 150 km to be completed by our 19 runners!
19 people are running and raising funds for Equitas and human rights education in the Scotia Bank Virtual Race this year. As of now, more than $6 850 were raised, but you can still support us and donate until September 28 on our team page here. Most of our runners have completed their race, but the last group will complete a 10 km race on this Sunday, so be sure to encourage them!
In just a few months, COVID-19 has gone from a distant threat to a global pandemic that has affected every facet of our society.
While this unprecedented crisis is forcing us all to make sacrifices, some communities are more affected than others.
We know that in times of crisis, the most vulnerable populations have limited capacity to ensure basic needs and human rights while others have more privilege. Many vulnerable groups like women, children, and LGBTQI communities therefore face even greater risks and dangers.
At Equitas, we believe that human rights education is a driving force for strengthening communities and supporting vulnerable people.
By supporting Equitas’ runners and making a donation, you are helping us to provide knowledge and tools to support the empowerment of vulnerable groups, and to strengthen the leadership of these groups so that they can protect and claim their rights, which are even more at risk in this time of crisis.
Thanks to all of our devoted runners!
