Natalie joined the Equitas team in August 2009 as a program officer working on activities in West Africa and Latin America. Since January 2016, she has worked on Equitas’ Regional Preventing Torture in la Francophonie Project (Cameroon, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Rwanda, DRC, Burundi and Côte d’Ivoire) as well as on the Autonomisation et participation citoyenne des femmes et des filles Project in Senegal, which are both part of SHREG Program. Prior to joining Equitas, Natalie worked with the Botswana Network on Ethics, Law and HIV/AIDS, in Ethiopia with Right to Play and the International Medical Corps, and in Canada with the International Bureau for Children’s Rights, on the situation of children in armed conflict in the Great Lakes of Africa region. Natalie is interested in children’s rights, women’s rights, LGBTQI rights and in the rights of human rights defenders to be free from torture. She holds an MA in International Development (Dalhousie University) and a BA in International Studies (York University and University of Valencia).
