Marcello works as an Education Specialist – Knowledge and Evaluation. He is primarily responsible for the organization of and follow-up to the 8th annual International Human Rights Education Conference and a project with the OHCHR which involves the development of 2 companion tools complementary to the already published OHCHR/Equitas Evaluation Handbook. Marcello has 25 years of experience in intergovernmental organizations and civil society and comes to Equitas from UNESCO (Paris) where he worked from 1997-2015 and held a number of different position including Chief of Section a.i. and Senior Programme Specialist, Division of Human Rights, Social Inclusion and the Fight against Racism and Discrimination, with overall responsibility for UNESCO actions in the fields of human rights education and promotion, social inclusion and the fight against discrimination, the promotion of cultural dialogue as well as normative and legal instruments for enhancing tolerance and pluralism. He was also responsible for the provision of assistance to and negotiation with national and municipal authorities. Multilingual, Marcello also 10 years of experience as a university lecturer at Canadian, French and American universities.
